Job summary

Jacobs in Midland, Texas is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist or Geologist to join our Environmental team. You will support site characterization, investigation, and remediation projects for private-sector and government clients, gaining hands-on field and office experience.

You'll work alongside experienced scientists, geologists, engineers, and project managers focused on safety, sustainability and real environmental impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

As a member of our team, you'll contribute to a variety of environmental projects by supporting field investigations, data analysis, reporting, and project coordination activities. Responsibilities may include

• Support environmental site investigations and remediation projects through field sampling of soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and surface water, while coordinating field activities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, geologists, engineers, and project managers while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Here's what you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology,or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Valid driver's license
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50-75% of the time to support project needs.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Previous internship, field, laboratory, or environmental consulting experience.
• Experience with environmental sampling
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Authorization to work within the United States without Visa (ie. OPT, CPT, H1B, etc) sponsorship

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $80,000.00.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
