Performs a wide range of environmental work to achieve compliance with the Company's standards and with federal and state regulatory requirements. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary to ensure personnel and facility environmental compliance. Maintains working knowledge of specific requirements imposed by government agencies. Reviews new and existing regulations/requirements and provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice. Prepares and reviews regulatory reports to be submitted to federal and state regulators. Conducts review of various operational related work documents, trend analysis related to environmental issues, surveillances of various work activities, and review of environmental data. Supports, develops, and implements programs and record keeping systems to track and evaluate overall environmental performance. Interface with regulators.
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston.
