Job summary

GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Remediation Engineer (Project Manager, Senior Project Manager or Senior Consultant) in Manhattan or Melville, NY.

You will design remediation systems, manage projects, mentor staff, and grow client relationships while delivering technical excellence. The role requires a NY PE license, an MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, and 10–15 years of consulting experience.

Qualifications

• New York Professional Engineer Licenses.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering + MS.
• 10–15 years of environmental consulting experience.
• Design of remedial systems across varied sites.
• LNAPL and chlorinated hydrocarbons investigation/remediation.
• Construction bid specification experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of New York laws and regulations.
• Ability to train/lead a team of junior professionals.
• Strong client outreach and relationship skills.
• Professional judgment, attention to detail, and high-quality work products.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with statistical data review and technical reports.
• Experience in project budgeting and financial management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of project engineers and scientists.
• Perform environmental engineering analyses and remediation design tasks.
• Develop project plans, cost estimates, and coordinate with disciplines.
• Present design submissions to clients and agencies.
• Evaluate remedial options and implement designs and cost estimates.
• Lead staffing, hiring, training, and performance reviews.
• Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor team performance against contracts and budgets.
• Lead business development activities with marketing support.
• Prepare proposals and environmental reports; ensure QA/QC.
