Job summary

Burns & McDonnell’s Midwest region is seeking a senior-level environmental remediation Project Manager to grow our remediation practice in Ohio, leveraging leadership to drive complex projects and client relationships.

This role blends project management, technical leadership, and business development, requiring regulatory knowledge (RCRA/CERCLA) and remediation experience, with travel and professional registration (PE/PG/CP OH) preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field from an accredited university.
• 7+ years of related professional experience investigating and remediating environmental sites; 10 years highly preferred.
• Project management experience is required.
• Knowledge of remediation technologies and techniques.
• Report, design, and bid package preparation experience.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Mining experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage technical projects and lead remediation design efforts.
• Ability to work within a team framework; self-motivation and multi-tasking required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing strategic plans to develop and expand the firm’s remediation practice within the Midwest region, creating new project opportunities and expanding client relationships.
• Identify and support recruitment of key individuals to grow the practice area and regional initiatives.
• Lead marketing and business development, with regular meetings with clients and partners.
• Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates, and proposals for investigation/remediation projects.
• Provide leadership to staff and coordinate project studies, reports, or design assignments.
• Manage project implementation, QA/QC, scheduling, and budgets.
• Lead work plans, reports, feasibility studies, and remedial design for federal/state programs.
• Utilize data management tools and visualization models to support execution.
• Oversee technical aspects of investigation/remediation projects and potential EPC approaches.
• Manage projects and supervise multidisciplinary teams.
• Support growth of the Columbus-based environmental practice across the Midwest.
