Job summary

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) seeks an Environmental Protection Engineer IV to serve as a Technical Expert/Working Supervisor for the RCRA Disposal Alternatives Unit, Bureau of Land. You will lead engineering evaluations, coordinate complex analyses, and advise on controversial engineering issues with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year college degree with a bachelor's in engineering, typically environmental, civil, or related engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Expert/Working Supervisor to engineering staff in the RCRA Unit A, Permit Section, Bureau of Land.
• Conduct and coordinate highly complex engineering evaluations of applications.
• Act as primary staff resource on complex, sensitive engineering issues for the RCRA Unit A.
• Respond to complex inquiries related to the RCRA Unit and related matters.
• Attend webinars, site visits, and trainings to stay current with applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties within the scope of duties enumerated.
