Job summary

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) seeks a Senior Environmental Project Manager in Atlanta, GA to lead a portfolio of environmental projects across GA, AL, and TN. You will supervise staff, drive client relationships, and deliver technically robust investigations, remediation, and permitting efforts.

You’ll provide senior input on complex sites, draft regulatory strategies, and guide reports to meet compliance and client goals. A PMP or PG/PE is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience managing environmental investigation and remediation projects across GA, AL, and TN.
• Minimum 3+ years of staff management experience.
• Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, staff, and client relationships.
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships based on trust and performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of environmental projects across GA, AL, and TN with scope including compliance, investigation, remediation, and permitting.
• Lead and support technical staff in preparing schedules, reports, memos, and proposals.
• Serve as primary client contact—managing expectations, budgets, and schedules.
• Provide senior technical input and oversight on complex sites including UST and non-UST projects.
• Draft and review detailed technical reports focusing on regulatory compliance and client goals.
• Develop regulatory strategies and represent clients in discussions and submittals.
• Apply expertise across Site Investigation, Remediation, Ecological Services, and Air Quality Services.
• Conduct performance reviews and lead team check-ins to manage workloads and development.
