Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Geologist / Environmental Project Manager to join our growing environmental team in Detroit (Wixom), MI. Lead solid waste, investigations, compliance and remediation projects for diverse clients in the region.

You'll manage projects, mentor staff, coordinate with regulators, and help grow CEC's environmental practice. This role blends technical expertise with leadership and client-facing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of environmental consulting, geology, or environmental project experience.
• Experience managing environmental investigation, remediation, compliance, and/or due diligence projects.
• Experience working with environmental regulations and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage landfill environmental compliance monitoring programs, including sampling, data management and reporting.
• Lead site/hydrogeologic investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling and data review.
• Oversee remediation projects with source removal, corrective actions, and long-term monitoring.
• Prepare and review technical reports, environmental documentation, and submittals.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and agencies to meet project objectives.
• Mentor junior staff and field personnel, providing technical guidance.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, scope and deliverables with client satisfaction.
