Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. is seeking a Project Environmental Professional in Phoenix to manage environmental assessments, investigations, and compliance projects.

The role combines technical expertise, project management, client interaction, and staff mentorship across a diverse portfolio. Responsibilities include leading Phase I/II ESAs, coordinating field investigations, managing budgets, and delivering technical reports while engaging with clients and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8 years of environmental assessments, investigations, and consulting projects.
• At least 1 year of experience managing budgets, schedules, and technical staff.
• Strong knowledge of Phase I ASTM E1527-21 and Phase II ASTM E1903.
• Experience preparing technical reports, work plans, and environmental deliverables.
• Strong technical writing, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience mentoring and training junior staff.
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Manage and conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) per ASTM standards.
• Lead environmental investigations involving soil, groundwater, vapor intrusion, and hazardous materials.
• Set objectives, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and performance standards.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client expectations.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams during field investigations and assessments.
• Oversee site reconnaissance, sampling, monitoring wells, and air monitoring activities.
• Coordinate subcontractors, laboratories, vendors, and field personnel.
• Analyze data and prepare technical reports, work plans, proposals, and deliverables.
• Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, property owners, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior environmental professionals and staff.
• Support business development through proposals and client relationships.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.
