Job summary

Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Environmental team in Plainville, CT. Open to candidates in MA or RI who are willing to travel to project sites as needed.

You will lead the technical and construction oversight of environmental remediation projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions. This ESOP-driven role blends field leadership with rigorous engineering analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
• 5–10 years of experience in environmental consulting or remediation.
• Professional Engineering license preferred.
• Experience with remedial system design, construction management, and contractor oversight.
• Strong technical writing, data analysis, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with EQuIS, GIS, or EnviroInsite is a plus.
• Knowledge of CT Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs) and ASTM site assessment protocols is a plus.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical supervision for the construction phase of environmental remediation projects.
• Perform field oversight of contractors for performance, quality, schedule, safety, and technical effectiveness.
• Evaluate remedial technologies for site-specific application, conduct pilot studies, and develop designs.
• Prepare for and execute field work including sampling and monitoring well activities.
• Conduct environmental field studies and surveys as part of field teams.
• Provide technical support for preliminary assessments, site investigations, remedial actions, and feasibility studies.
• Perform office tasks: data organization, data analysis, reporting, and project files management.
• Write and support drafting of technical reports and field documents.
