Job summary

Loureiro Engineering Associates is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the environmental team, based in Plainville, CT, with optional candidates in MA or RI willing to travel. You will oversee construction and field activities, evaluate remediation strategies, and support regulatory compliance across CERCLA, RCRA, and related standards.

The role combines site work and office analysis, emphasizing leadership, technical writing, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
• 5–10 years of experience in environmental consulting or remediation
• Professional Engineering license preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide technical supervision for the construction phase of environmental remediation projects.
• Perform field oversight of contractors for performance, quality, schedule, safety, and technical effectiveness.
• Evaluate remedial technologies for site-specific application, conduct pilot studies, and develop designs.
• Prepare for and execute field work including sampling and monitoring.
• Conduct environmental field studies and surveys as part of field teams.
• Provide technical support across preliminary assessments, site investigations, and feasibility studies.
• Perform office tasks: data organization, analysis, and reporting, maintain project files.
• Write and support drafting of technical documents including field oversight reports and safety plans.
