Job summary

Loureiro Engineering Associates Inc. seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead environmental remediation projects from its Plainville, CT area, with flexibility for candidates in MA or RI willing to travel.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, field oversight, and collaboration across disciplines to deliver compliant solutions. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in environmental consulting, a PE license preferred, and proficiency in writing, data analysis, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
• 5-10 years of experience in environmental consulting or remediation.
• Professional Engineering license preferred.
• Experience with remedial system design, construction management, and contractor oversight.
• Strong technical writing, data analysis, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with EQuIS, GIS, or EnviroInsite is a plus.
• Knowledge of CT Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs) and ASTM site assessment protocols is a plus.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical supervision for the construction phase of environmental remediation projects.
• Perform field oversight of contractors for performance, quality, schedule, safety, and technical effectiveness.
• Evaluate remedial technologies for site-specific application, pilot studies, and designs.
• Prepare for and execute field work, including sampling, monitoring wells, logging soil borings, and related tasks.
• Conduct environmental field studies and surveys as part of a field team.
• Provide technical support for CERCLA, RCRA, and other environmental compliance studies.
• Perform office tasks: data organization, analysis, reporting, and filing.
• Write and support technical documents including field oversight reports and health & safety plans.
