Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers, LLC is seeking an Environmental Planning and Permitting Division Lead in Murfreesboro, TN. The role focuses on leading NEPA and permitting initiatives, developing client relationships, and guiding project teams through complex environmental reviews.

The position requires a strong track record in NEPA, regulatory knowledge, and leadership, with a preference for experience in a hybrid work setting and a focus on delivering quality environmental outcomes.

Qualifications

10+ years of professional NEPA and/or permitting experience.
Experience reviewing environmental documents for regulatory completeness.
Knowledge of NEPA and environmental permitting processes at multiple levels.
Experience with state and federal regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

Lead the business development, operations and production effort for Environmental Planning and Permitting market.
Prepare fee proposals, scope of work, budgeting, invoicing and forecasting.
Aid in NEPA documents and permit applications development.
Support staff in environmental planning and permitting tasks.
Collaborate with disciplines and clients to complete projects.
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines.
Hire and guide junior staff, providing direction and feedback.
Act as point of contact for Environmental Planning & Permitting.
Develop project work plans, manage projects and client relationships.
Ensure quality assurance for deliverables and effective communications.
