Job summary

ICF is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner/Project Manager to support our Mountain West mining team in a remote capacity. The role focuses on managing federal and state permitting and NEPA compliance for mining and energy projects, coordinating with agencies and clients, and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates will have 6+ years of NEPA/project management experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage schedules and budgets while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physical science, natural science, policy, economics, environmental science, or related disciplines.
• 6+ years of experience with national/state/local-level environmental reviews, mine permitting, or NEPA project management.
• Master's degree in physical science, natural science, policy, economics, environmental science preferred.
• Recent working experience with Bureau of Land Management and/or U.S. Forest Service regulations and policies.
• Experience obtaining environmental permits, reviewing technical studies addressing biological resources, cultural resources, air quality, noise, and hydrology.
• Experience managing pre-NEPA work (surveys, data collection) and developing project schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the permitting and NEPA compliance project manager on large, complex mining projects.
• Plan and complete tasks related to NEPA and permitting products and services.
• Interface directly with key agencies and clients and build strong relationships.
• Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare proposals, and grow client relationships.
• Lead project teams to meet client schedule, quality, and budget expectations.
• Lead, manage, inspire, and mentor staff.
