Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Environmental Manager to lead sustainability programs across open pit and underground mining operations. You will ensure regulatory compliance, improve water management, and oversee reclamation efforts within a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

The role requires a strong track record in environmental leadership, 10+ years of experience, and 5+ years in mining with supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science/engineering/biology/geology is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated environmental experience is required.
• Minimum 5 years mining experience (open pit and underground) is required.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience is required.
• Experience working on public land is required; experience engaging with U.S. agencies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage environmental programs and compliance for open pit and underground mining operations.
• Communicate with departments and government agencies on environmental compliance matters.
• Manage key environmental aspects related to water, waste, air quality, lands, and reclamation/closure.
• Prepare environmental reports and other technical documents for regulators.
• Coordinate with Corporate permitting to align operations with large-scale permitting activities.
• Track permit renewals and regulatory proposals.
• Develop and manage the environmental department budget.
• Coach and mentor environmental staff for professional development.
