Job summary

Van Ness Feldman is seeking a Litigation Counsel with 10+ years of experience to lead environmental litigation matters in Seattle. The role offers a hybrid in-office arrangement and opportunities to mentor junior associates within a collaborative team.

The attorney will work with experienced litigators on a range of matters, including regulatory and non-litigation work, in a firm focused on energy, environment, and natural resources law.

Qualifications

• First chair experience with major litigation in local or state tribunals or courts.
• Draft legal memoranda, client recommendations, pleadings, and discovery requests/responses.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Handling discovery disputes and conflicts.
• Trial presentation and oral advocacy experience.
• Knowledge of major environmental statutes and implementing regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior associates within a team-based environment.
• Collaborate with environmental litigators and regulatory attorneys on matters.
• Support non-litigation matters when appropriate and required.
• Represent clients in filings, hearings, and related proceedings.
