Job summary

Mangrum Career Solutions LLC is assisting a prominent international AmLaw 50 law firm in Washington, DC, to identify a Senior Associate Attorney for the Environmental & Land Use Practice. The role focuses on advising leading clients on complex environmental compliance, enforcement, and remediation matters under federal and state laws within a hybrid Washington, DC setting.

Candidates should have 5–7 years of substantive environmental regulatory experience, a JD from a top-tier law school,

Qualifications

JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic credentials.
Active DC Bar admission in good standing.
5–7 years of substantive experience in environmental regulatory compliance and enforcement matters.
Familiarity with CERCLA and RCRA; experience with hazardous, solid, medical, pharmaceutical, and/or controlled substances waste preferred.

Responsibilities

Advise clients on compliance with major federal and state environmental statutes, including CERCLA and RCRA.
Represent clients in environmental enforcement proceedings and negotiations with regulatory agencies.
Counsel clients on environmental aspects of transactions, due diligence, and risk management.
Draft and review environmental reports, submissions, and compliance documents.
Collaborate with internal and external teams, including technical consultants and environmental engineers, to develop strategic solutions to complex issues.
Support environmental litigation and administrative proceedings as needed.
