Job description

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission‑critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting‑edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We’re seeking a Senior Environmental, Health & Safety Auditor that will be responsible for planning and conducting environmental, health, and safety audits to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and international standards, including ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems). This role supports continuous improvement initiatives, risk reduction, and operational excellence across multiple sites. You’ll serve as a technical specialist and lead for EH&S Auditing.

Based out of one of our US offices, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with local and global experts to ensure Jacobs provides best practice solutions to our clients. You’ll prepare and deliver high quality reports and presentations to clients’ technical and senior leadership in accordance with Jacobs’ quality process. You'll apply your technical experience to develop delivery strategies and develop client relationships while championing safety, quality, and the well‑being of your team. And, you'll master and promote Jacobs’ solutions and technologies to internal and external stakeholders.

This position requires travel to client sites and working at client facilities in addition to hybrid office work when working from the office.

Bring your expertise in EH&S regulations and auditing and desire to work on tough problems, and we’ll empower you to deliver the boldest solutions for our clients.

Here’s what you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous development and active engagement in professional networks, company communities of practice groups or similar
  • Experience with direct client interaction in EHS auditing, compliance, or related field
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients, contractors, and teammates
  • Proven organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills
  • Experience with small, medium, or large‑scale client environmental consulting projects and representing clients to stakeholders including regulatory agencies
  • Ability to design, lead, and improve enterprise or multi‑site EHS audit programs, not just execute audits
  • Strong command of EPA and ISO (14001/45001), with the ability to interpret and apply requirements in complex environments
  • Experience using risk assessment methods and analytics to prioritize issues and identify trends
  • Proven skill in conducting root cause analysis and implementing sustainable, system‑level corrective actions
  • Ability to translate findings into business risk and effectively influence leadership across functions and regions
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • US citizenship
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • ISO 14001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification
  • Experience with additional standards (ISO 45001, ISO 9001)
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance frameworks
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CIH, Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar credentials
  • Project management and organizational abilities
Benefits

Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Your health. Your well‑being. Your security. Your future.
