Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support a wide variety of environmental projects, including field sampling, remediation planning, and report preparation.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering degree, EIT/FE, 5 years of related experience, and travel up to 40% with experience at Superfund or contaminated sites, aiming to progress to project leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within 18 months of hire.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Managing tasks on large projects or phases of small projects.
• Performing surface and subsurface soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and other field data collection to support environmental and water supply projects.
• Working on a variety of assignments, including field studies, research investigations, construction oversight, data interpretation and evaluation, or report preparation.
• Performing engineering design for environmental projects, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and developing operation, maintenance, and monitoring plans.
• Performing remedial construction oversight and quality control.
• Reviewing draft assessments and calculations for compliance with regulations.
• Learning project management techniques and the CDM Smith management system.
• Developing external client interaction and marketing skills.
