Job summary

Terracon is seeking a senior environmental engineer to provide leadership and project management for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Waste Cleanup Program. You will oversee site investigations, remediation strategies and risk assessments, and guide multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates hold a Florida Professional Engineer license with 8–11 years of experience, and be prepared to mentor junior staff while communicating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8–11 years of experience in environmental engineering and project management.
• Florida Professional Engineer License required.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level engineering, technical leadership, and project management in support of FDEP Waste Cleanup Program.
• Lead investigations, contamination assessments, remedial design and implementation.
• Evaluate environmental data and perform advanced analyses and risk assessments.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams for soil, groundwater, sediment, and vapor investigations.
• Present remediation strategies and findings to stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists.
