Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 8–11 years of experience in environmental engineering.
  • PE registration preferred in Texas; valid driver’s license required.

  • Lead the Environmental Engineering practice in the Dallas–Fort Worth region.
  • Perform and/or lead environmental site investigations.
  • Develop plans and specifications and engineering analyses.
  • Prepare service reports and regulatory correspondence.
  • Identify risk mitigation and remediation strategies complying with regulations.
  • Lead complex projects and communicate with clients and teams.
  • Collaborate with the DFW Regional Environmental Manager to grow the Texas division.

Job description

  • Lead Terracon’s Environmental Engineering practice in the Dallas-Fort Worth region
  • Support and advance the environmental engineering practice in the Texas division
  • Perform and/or lead environmental site investigations
  • Complete engineering analyses, calculations, and recommendations
  • Develop plans and specifications
  • Conduct site observations and inspections
  • Prepare, review, and write service-related reports
  • Provide engineering and consulting services for environmental projects and clients
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend risk mitigation and remediation strategies complying with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Prepare permit applications, risk assessments, proposals, technical reports, and regulatory correspondence
  • Design environmental systems and protection plans
  • Apply engineering principles and communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams
  • Lead complex or unique projects requiring innovative engineering analysis and problem-solving
  • Supervise analysis of findings and development of recommendations in written reports
  • Participate in marketing strategies and client presentations
  • Lead team safety efforts and promote pre-task planning
  • Develop practical solutions to client challenges
  • Collaborate with the DFW Regional Environmental Manager and environmental engineers to grow the regional and Texas division practice
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or related degree
  • Minimum 8-11 years’ experience
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Texas preferred
  • Master’s degree in environmental engineering preferred
  • Experience working with groundwater contaminant plumes
  • Ability to develop contaminant transport solutions using analytic or numerical models
  • Experience preparing feasibility studies
  • Experience with in-situ and ex-situ remediation methods
  • Ability to develop engineering designs for remediation methods
  • Strong experience with PFAS science
  • Experience with remediation technologies for contaminated soil, groundwater and biosolids
  • Experience with water and wastewater treatment methods
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations to size equipment for project conditions
  • Ability to design vapor intrusion mitigation systems (VIMS) and sub-slab depressurization systems (SSDS)
  • Working knowledge of TRRP and PST rules
  • Proficiency using VCP, Corrective Action, and PST programs and processes
