Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Environmental Counsel to join our national practice in Boston, MA. This partner-track role focuses on advising clients on complex regulatory, transactional, and compliance matters with substantial client exposure from day one.

The ideal candidate will bring deep environmental law experience, strong business judgment, and the ability to manage significant matters independently while mentoring junior attorneys and contributing to practice development.

Qualifications

• Significant experience practicing environmental law in a law firm, government, or sophisticated in-house environment.
• Strong knowledge of environmental statutes, regulations, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience advising clients on environmental compliance, transactional matters, and risk management.
• Ability to independently manage complex legal matters and client relationships.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Mentoring junior attorneys preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on environmental regulatory and compliance matters.
• Counsel clients regarding environmental risks associated with business operations, transactions, and development activities.
• Handle interactions with governmental and regulatory agencies.
• Support corporate, finance, real estate, and transactional teams on environmental issues.
• Conduct environmental due diligence and risk assessments.
• Assist with permitting, remediation, enforcement, and compliance matters.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on complex environmental issues.
• Manage matters independently while collaborating across practice groups when needed.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to practice development initiatives.
• Participate in client relationship management and business development efforts.
