Essential Responsibilities & Duties
  • Support the development of new and existing clients and markets while cross‑selling GEI’s other core business areas (e.g., permitting, water resources, ecological services, and engineering) to facilitate growth of GEI’s northeast Wisconsin offices.
  • Maintain high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact.
  • Participate in client‑based professional organizations and present at industry events.
  • Manage projects and tasks that support clients in the region with investigation and remediation of environmental conditions, environmental due diligence, environmental compliance and permitting.
  • Lead and work on a variety of environmental projects throughout the Midwest.
  • Prepare project correspondence, data reports, and work plans for internal and client review.
  • Mentor and train staff.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in Environmental Engineering or Geology; Masters preferred.
  • Experience with environmental permitting and compliance, focusing on federal and state (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan) environmental regulations is preferred. Experience with Wisconsin’s Spill Law and Michigan Part 201 and Part 213 risk‑based assessment and closure are a plus.
  • Professional Engineer, Professional Geologist, and/or Certified Hydrogeologist is preferred.
  • 12+ years relevant experience.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgement, and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills.
  • Seller‑doer with strong regional connections and an entrepreneurial spirit.
