Job summary

Dominion Energy in Norfolk seeks an Environmental Compliance Coordinator to ensure corporate and contractor compliance with environmental, chemical, waste, and permit regulations at designated sites. Responsibilities include coordinating with operations, inspecting compliance, and serving as liaison with agencies and the public.

The role requires 2+ years (Coordinator) or 5+ years (Senior) of relevant experience, strong knowledge of regulations, and the ability to develop and administer complex

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permits.
• Ability to develop, implement and administer complex environmental compliance plans and processes.
• Ability to interpret and apply environmental requirements to company operations and translate regulatory regulations, permit and plan requirements into understandable compliance guidance.
• Ability to prepare and/or review compliance and regulatory documents and reports.
• Strong technical writing, communication and public relations skills.
• Strong data analysis and record keeping skills.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel and Power Point).
• Excellent organizational, time management and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and to be self-directed.
• Ability to work in field environments-Ability to manage contract resources.
• Ability to diplomatically handle sensitive situations with regulatory agencies, the public, and company personnel at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance at work locations and with contracted assets.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance personnel to verify site compliance.
• Inspect, assess, and provide recommendations on compliance issues.
• Prepare management reports and data analyses.
• Serve as liaison with external and governmental agencies.
• Coordinate hazardous waste disposal and training of site personnel.
• Identify safety risks and recommend corrective actions.
