Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking an Environmental Program Director who will manage policies, programs, and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws. The role supervises about 3 environmental professionals across markets and coordinates with external consultants.

The position requires a civil/environmental/mining engineering or related degree and 7+ years' experience. Travel ~20% and a base salary in a broad $135k–$170k range accompany bonuses and a full benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental/Mining Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or closely related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience across multiple industrial facilities in environmental field.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and project management.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety culture and continuous improvement within operations.
• Direct permitting efforts related to air emissions, water withdrawals, and land use.
• Coordinate permit applications with operations, consultants, legal counsel, and regulators.
• Ensure permit conditions, reporting, monitoring, and deadlines are met.
• Lead, train, and develop environmental staff; manage performance and staffing.
• Advise operations in planning, permitting and environmental compliance.
• Represent the company before environmental agencies and in hearings.
• Evaluate environmental liabilities for due diligence and business transactions.
