Martin Marietta is seeking an Environmental Program Director who will manage policies, programs, and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws. The role supervises about 3 environmental professionals across markets and coordinates with external consultants.
The position requires a civil/environmental/mining engineering or related degree and 7+ years' experience. Travel ~20% and a base salary in a broad $135k–$170k range accompany bonuses and a full benefits
Manages environmental policies, programs, and practices. Serves as an internal consultant to Martin Marietta operations leadership to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and Company standards concerning the environment. Supervises a staff of approximately 3 environmental professionals in multiple markets, as well as contracted environmental consultants.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental/Mining Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or closely related discipline.
7+ years of experience over multiple industrial facilities in the environmental field.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Manual dexterity to operate telephone, personal computer, fax and copy machines and other office equipment.
Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. You must be able to maintain three points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders.
Strong hand-eye-foot coordination is essential. You must have good depth perception with or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet.
Must be able to walk up to 200 yards over rough, uneven, and/or wet slippery terrain.
Travel ~20% overnight.
All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet, dry, and dusty.Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.
The hiring range for this position is $135,000 -$170,000 exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position. In addition, this role is eligible for our annual bonus program. Bonuses awarded under this program are determined based on the performance of the organization and the employee.
