AXIS Capital is hiring a Senior Claims Specialist – Environmental Claims for its North America Claim Team. This role manages complex primary and excess environmental claims and collaborates with underwriting, legal, and actuarial teams to deliver sound outcomes.

We seek candidates with significant environmental claims experience, strong policy analysis skills, and the ability to mentor peers. The role requires 3 days in the office and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Significant experience handling complex environmental claims (toxic tort, long-tail casualty, or similar).
• Ability to analyze environmental policies, coverage issues, liability, damages, and facts.
• Strong judgment in establishing reserves and escalating exposures.
• Clear, credible written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsabilités

• Assess environmental claims to determine coverage, liability, damages, reserves, and settlement value.
• Manage claims under environmental products, including pollution liability and related coverages.
• Develop and execute claim strategies for remediation, bodily injury, property damage, and regulatory action.
• Direct counsel, consultants, experts, and vendors to support outcomes and costs.
• Collaborate with underwriting, legal, actuarial, and other partners to improve practices.
