Qualifications

• Solid environmental background with degree or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of environmental legislation and best practice, permitting and consents within construction, infrastructure or utilities.
• Willingness to work on site, conduct inspections and support sampling and reactive operations.
• Knowledge of EMS, waste management and environmental reporting, with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Confident communicator who can influence stakeholders and drive positive change.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance to support planned and reactive works, embedding best practice on site.
• Support essential repairs, including major burst water mains, minimising environmental impact.
• Conduct environmental inspections and audits; support sampling and investigate incidents.
• Champion sustainability through quarterly client reporting on carbon, waste, biodiversity and plastics; maintain site documentation.
• Deliver EMS audits and training; assist operational teams to improve environmental performance.

What you'll be doing:

• Champion Sustainability: Contribute to quarterly client reporting on carbon, waste, biodiversity and plastics, alongside environmental documentation.
• Inspire Improvement: Deliver EMS audits and training, support operational teams and identify opportunities to improve environmental performance.

Who they're looking for:

• An Environmental Professional: You have a solid environmental background, with a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledgeable in Compliance: You understand environmental legislation and best practice, ideally with experience in permitting and consents within construction, infrastructure or utilities.
• Practical & Proactive: You're comfortable working on site, conducting inspections and supporting sampling and reactive operations.
• Sustainability-Focused: You understand environmental management systems, waste management and environmental reporting, with a passion for continuous improvement.
• A Confident Communicator: You can influence stakeholders, engage operational teams and drive positive change. A relevant professional qualification or membership (IEMA, CIWEM, IES or CIWM) and a full UK driving licence are required.
