CD PROJEKT RED in Boston seeks an Expert Environment Artist to lead world-building for Cyberpunk 2. You will own skyline to streets, set visual identity, and mentor other artists as part of a collaborative team.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, mastery of Unreal Engine, and strong DCC skills with Blender and Substance Painter. In-office hybrid work in Boston, with a robust benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in environment art.
• Mastery of Unreal Engine and strong DCC skills.
• Proficient with Blender and Substance Painter; Maya/3DS Max valued.
• Excellent sense of composition, scale, proportions, color theory and lighting.
• Strong awareness of how materials fit in a project context.
• Deep understanding of level design to support gamer experience.
• Craft visually compelling, believable environments that support storytelling.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for games.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute environment art from city districts to interiors.
• World-building by drafting large-scale city districts to guide composition and player flow.
• Define and uphold environment art standards across composition, lighting, color, materials, storytelling, and gameplay readability.
• Collaborate with Art Directors and teammates to maintain artistic consistency and vision.
• Create best-in-class modular kits that define Cyberpunk art styles.
• Prototype and establish new pipelines with Tech Art and Engineering.
• Collaborate with Level Design and Narrative teams across disciplines.
• Mentor and provide feedback to other artists.
• Maintain and improve production methods and pipelines to meet deadlines.
