Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Senior Veritas Enterprise Vault Engineer to join the Legal department in a full-time role. You will support the Veritas Enterprise Vault environment, perform configurations, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting, and respond to incidents to minimize downtime.

This executive-level position requires strong collaboration with IT and legal teams, experience with storage management, backups, and cloud migration, and the ability to work in

Qualifications

• Experience with Veritas Enterprise Vault or similar archival systems.
• Strong Windows Server administration skills in a data/storage rich environment.
• Experience with backups, disaster recovery, and storage management.

Responsibilities

• Participate in teleconferences or technical meetings to review, educate, and support program objectives.
• Perform configurations, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting using current engineering documentation.
• Record configurations change requests through the established change control board.
• Process storage requests, migrations and decommission tasks.
• Monitor failed system components and coordinate logistics, vendor support, and site support as needed.
• Respond to monitoring alerts and escalations with prompt corrective actions.
• Complete scheduled maintenance in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Prevent data loss or outages with careful maintenance.
• Manage technology in remote environments.
• Review and process tickets related to supported systems per SLAs.
• Provide initial response, Level 1 and 2 escalation for outages.
• Schedule maintenance actions.
• Create PowerShell and VBScript scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Facilitate migration of systems into cloud infrastructure.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verify integrity and availability of hardware, servers, and systems.
• Review system and application logs to verify completion of scheduled backups.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades; upgrade admin tools and utilities; upgrade end-user applications.
• Configure/add new services as necessary.
• Research and recommend innovative automation approaches for admin tasks.
• Prepare and review technical assessments with required tasks and timelines.
• Provide before/after core hour work as required.
