Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Senior UI/UX Developer to lead enterprise UX and front-end delivery onsite. You will design intuitive flows, create wireframes and design systems, and translate UI/UX work into production-ready code using modern JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS/SASS.

The role requires 5-7 years of experience, strong JavaScript skills, accessibility expertise, and experience with automated testing.

Qualifications

5-7 years of professional UI/UX design and modern front-end web development.
Strong JavaScript skills with modern build tools and front-end ecosystems.
Proven web accessibility experience including ARIA roles and screen reader support.
Experience with automated web testing tools (Selenium, Cypress) and unit tests.
Knowledge of security risks (e.g., XSS) and secure front-end practices.
Track record leading UI/UX initiatives and documenting design systems.

Responsibilities

Design intuitive user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and design systems for enterprise apps.
Convert UI/UX work into production-ready front-end code using modern JavaScript, HTML5, CSS/SASS.
Lead accessibility audits and ensure ADA and WCAG 2.1 AA/AAA alignment.
Build automated UI tests and integration tests for cross-browser compatibility.
Collaborate with backend engineers and project leads; maintain design documentation.
Mentor junior developers on accessibility and front-end best practices.
