Job Summary

The Senior Enterprise Platform Engineer designs, builds, and supports the applications, APIs, and integrations that run on our Azure-based enterprise platform. This role builds modern web applications in React and Next.js, backend services and integration logic in Python, and event-driven and API-based connections between internal systems and external vendors. The engineer works AI-natively: using agentic coding tools such as Claude Code to accelerate delivery, and building AI-enabled capabilities into the platform using Azure AI services. The engineer partners closely with business, data, security, and technology teams to deliver solutions that meet our operational, security, and data quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications and services on Azure using React, Next.js, and Python (FastAPI or similar), deployed to Azure App Service, Azure Container Apps, and Azure Functions
  • Build and support REST and event-driven integrations across enterprise systems (CRM, portfolio accounting, custodial, and other third-party platforms) using Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, and Logic Apps
  • Develop and maintain data mappings, transformation logic, and integration workflows for real-time, event-driven, and batch processing, including file-based exchanges and vendor data feeds
  • Use AI-assisted and agentic development tools (e.g., Claude Code and comparable tools) as a core part of the daily workflow for design, implementation, testing, refactoring, and documentation, while applying sound engineering judgment to review, validate, and own all generated code
  • Design and implement AI-enabled features and internal tools using Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Foundry, including retrieval-augmented generation, tool/function calling, prompt design, evaluation, and guardrails appropriate to a regulated financial services environment
  • Implement platform security controls, including Microsoft Entra ID authentication and authorization, Azure Key Vault secrets and certificate management, managed identities, and secure data transmission
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps; Bicep or Terraform) to deliver repeatable, auditable deployments across environments
  • Implement observability, error handling, monitoring, and alerting with Azure Monitor and Application Insights to ensure reliability and data integrity
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture and integration designs, API specifications, data mappings, and operational runbooks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical input, and deliver solutions aligned with business needs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Contribute to platform standards, reusable components, shared libraries, and AI-assisted development practices across the engineering team
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5 or more years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years building and deploying production workloads on Microsoft Azure
  • Strong hands-on experience with React and Next.js, including modern TypeScript, component architecture, and server-side rendering patterns
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python for backend services, APIs, and integration logic
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with event-driven or message-based integration patterns
  • Experience with data transformation and mapping across multiple formats, including JSON, XML, and flat files
  • Demonstrated, current use of AI coding assistants or agentic development tools in day-to-day engineering, with the ability to explain how you validate, test, and secure AI-generated code
  • Working knowledge of application and integration security, including OAuth 2.0/OIDC, Entra ID, role-based access control, and secure secrets management
  • Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Ability to document technical solutions clearly and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building production features on Azure OpenAI or Azure AI Foundry, including RAG pipelines, agents, and evaluation frameworks
  • Experience with Azure API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, Logic Apps, or Azure Data Factory
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Bicep or Terraform) and containerization (Docker, Azure Container Apps or AKS)
  • Experience integrating with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Experience writing and optimizing SQL against Azure SQL or SQL Managed Instance
  • Experience supporting integrations in production environments with operational accountability
  • Familiarity with Power BI or Microsoft Fabric for surfacing application data to business users
  • Azure certifications such as AZ-204 (Azure Developer Associate) or AZ-305 (Solutions Architect Expert)
  • Experience in the wealth management or broader financial services industry is a plus
