Job summary

CyberCoders, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support a multi-site enterprise infrastructure in Hartford, CT.

The role covers routing, switching, security, VPN, wireless, and remote access, with emphasis on reliable, secure connectivity and ongoing modernization. The successful candidate will manage Cisco/Meraki environments, participate in DR planning, and collaborate with IT teams to deliver resilient network services across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in IT/CS/Networking or related field.
• 5+ years supporting enterprise networking environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2/3, VLANs, NAT, ACLs, DNS, VPN.
• Experience with Cisco/Meraki networks; willingness to learn other hardware.
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, wireless, and data center connectivity.
• Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, and authentication technologies.
• Proficient in network monitoring tools (Wireshark, logs, traceroute).
• Strong communication, planning, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support enterprise network infrastructure across multiple sites.
• Configure and optimize routing, switching, firewall, wireless, VPN, and remote access.
• Manage Cisco and Meraki environments: switches, routers, firewalls, APs.
• Monitor performance, bandwidth, latency, and availability.
• Troubleshoot network/infrastructure issues with diagnostic tools.
• Support VMware-based virtual environments and data center networking.
• Implement segmentation, security policies, and access controls.
• Lead infrastructure upgrades and equipment refreshes.
• Maintain network diagrams, standards, configurations, inventories, and docs.
• Participate in DR exercises, failover tests, and BC planning.
• Collaborate with vendors/carriers and internal teams; escalate when needed.
