Job summary

Scion Technology Staffing seeks a Network Engineer for our client, a global leader in seed breeding and production. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire onsite in Woodland, CA. The role focuses on maintaining enterprise network, servers, OS, and communications infrastructure.

Candidates bring 5+ years in enterprise network administration, CCNA/MCSE preferred, strong skills in VPNs, DNS/DHCP, firewalling, and virtualization. You’ll lead upgrades, improve security, and collaborate with IT leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in network administration within enterprise environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (MCSE preferred; CCNA or equivalent required).
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra, and Office 365; virtualization with VMware/Hyper-V.
• Strong knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPNs; security best practices.
• Understanding of SOX controls and compliance considerations.

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across locations for high availability.
• Design, configure, troubleshoot, and support network technologies including routers, switches, VPNs, DNS, DHCP.
• Lead network projects from planning to implementation with minimal supervision.
• Maintain network security, identify vulnerabilities, and support cybersecurity initiatives with IT leadership.
• Collaborate with IT team to resolve escalated issues and support enterprise initiatives.
• Develop and maintain network documentation and DR/BC plans.
• Provide exceptional technical support to stakeholders; participate in on-call rotation.
