Structured Communication Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior Network Engineer in the Portland area to design, implement, and optimize enterprise networking solutions for diverse customers.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor, collaborating with customers, sales, and internal teams to deliver projects that meet business goals. The role emphasizes advanced routing, SDN/SD-WAN, security, and data-center networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Network Engineering or related field; 12+ years in tech, 7+ years in systems analysis.
• Direct experience with physical networking infrastructure and cabling, optics, connectors.
• Proficiency with Layer 2 tech (Ethernet, VLANs, STP) and enterprise routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS).
• Experience with SDN/SD-WAN, security tech (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs), QoS, PoE.

Responsibilities

• Designs, installs, configures, troubleshoots, and manages enterprise networking solutions.
• Evaluates and recommends network tools/technologies to meet objectives.
• Interfaces with customers and sales to design networking solutions and provide policy recommendations.
• Translates requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans.
• Leads projects, manages scope, timelines, and stakeholder communication.
