Job summary

LMI is seeking a Chief Engineer in the Washington, DC area to serve as the program's senior technical authority for enterprise IT and communications. You will guide architecture, governance, and modernization across systems, networks, cloud, security, data, and operations.

The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of experience, active TS/SCI clearance, and strong leadership with executive communication. Travel may be 25-50% across program locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field
• 12+ years of progressive enterprise IT experience
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations
• Experience in SCIF/classified environments
• Active TS/SCI clearance required
• Excellent written and verbal communication for senior decision makers
• Experience with risk management and architecture reviews

Responsibilities

• Establish program's technical vision, architecture, and modernization roadmap.
• Advise Program Manager and leadership on technical matters.
• Own integrated baseline across systems, network, cloud, data, and operations.
• Lead architecture reviews, readiness reviews, and engineering meetings.
• Manage technical risks, gaps, and lifecycle concerns.
• Coordinate trade studies on cost, schedule, security, and risk.
• Ensure requirements traceability from design to operations.
• Communicate major decisions and risks to stakeholders.
• Develop an integrated automation strategy across engineering, cybersecurity, testing, and operations.
