Senior Database Engineer

InDev is seeking a Senior Database Engineer with 10+ years of experience in data governance, deep expertise in Collibra, to design, implement, and manage enterprise-wide data governance frameworks. The role focuses on establishing robust metadata, data lineage, and master data management practices aligned with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities
  • Define, implement, and configure data governance frameworks using Collibra.
  • Ensure data cataloging, lineage, and stewardship are configured, maintained, and validated within Collibra.
  • Build, customize, and manage Collibra operating models, workflows, and governance assets.
  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to establish data policies, standards, and ownership.
  • Design and maintain enterprise metadata models and manage metadata tagging within Collibra.
  • Oversee data classification, glossaries, and dictionaries within Collibra.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure consistent and accurate master data across systems.
  • Develop and implement data models, standards, and schemas for structured and unstructured data.
  • Define, create, and maintain data sharing policies based on security rules.
  • Develop data integration strategies and support hands‑on integration of disparate sources with governance frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and federal standards.
  • Partner with CDO, data stewards, engineers, and analysts to ensure data usability and trustworthiness.
  • Provide technical guidance on how Collibra integrates with data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, etc.).
  • Train and support business users on self‑service data discovery using Collibra.
  • Leverage AI/ML capabilities within Collibra for data quality monitoring and anomaly detection.
  • Build and maintain automated pipelines for metadata ingestion, lineage capture, and governance workflows.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline (U.S. accredited institution).
  • 10+ years of experience implementing data governance frameworks with Collibra.
  • Strong knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, and master data management practices.
  • Hands‑on expertise integrating Collibra with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS).
  • Solid understanding of data architecture principles, data modeling, and integration strategies.
  • Familiarity with data privacy and regulatory standards (GDPR, CCPA, federal compliance).
  • Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders and guide best practices.
  • Experience with AI/ML or automation tools to enhance data quality and streamline governance workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in DHS Suitability Clearance environments.
  • Experience building custom Collibra connectors or advanced workflow automations.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, catalogs, and governance frameworks.
  • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including serverless or ingestion services.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
