You will proactively cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers and utilize GitHub sales strategies with executive, business, and technical decision-makers at high levels within their organizations. In this role, you will position yourself as a thought leader and trusted advisor to executive-level business decision makers. You will oversee a complex book of business requiring strategic planning and prioritization.


Responsibilities

Sales Excellence
  • Position yourself as a thought leader and trusted advisor to executive decision makers by leveraging best-in-class sales and communication techniques to build strong relationships.
  • Deliver compelling value propositions based on the GitHub Platform Deck, including business cases and tailored business plans to drive outcomes. Maximize upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Document and create stakeholder maps in account plans, articulating GitHub’s value aligned with customer objectives. Translate features into business impacts that accelerate digital transformation.
Account Management
  • Develop and execute account plans using sales methodologies like Value Framework, MEDDPICC, Challenger Sale, and Command of the Message. Ensure engagement yields high sales volume and meets goals, outcomes, and forecasts. Own the forecasting process for assigned accounts. Lead diverse teams and coordinate with internal experts.
  • Customer Engagement: Map prospects and buying processes, help new buyers navigate deals, identify stakeholders and blockers, and strategize to close deals.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Partners, and other teams to create functional, transparent, and effective teamwork.
Industry Knowledge
  • Exhibit deep industry knowledge, current trends, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape. Use this knowledge to position GitHub solutions within the industry context.
  • Advise customers on best practices and how to leverage GitHub products for innovation and business transformation.
  • Effectively communicate and present strategic ideas to small and large groups, respond to questions, and handle challenges in live settings.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years in technology sales, account management, or technical selling roles
  • Or a relevant degree with 4+ years experience, or a master's degree with 2+ years experience, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% for business needs
  • Effective communication in English and native-level Spanish fluency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in software sales, especially in software development, DevOps, DevSecOps, or AI domains
  • Ability to assess customer needs and build trusted relationships at all levels
  • Experience selling in LATAM is highly preferred
  • Proven track record of exceeding targets and growing business YoY
  • Portuguese language skills are a plus
Compensation Range

The base salary range is USD $155,250.00 annually. There is potential to earn sales incentives, with OTE based on a 50/50 base salary and sales incentives. Compensation varies based on location, experience, and role. Benefits may include bonuses and stock options.
