Overview

The ideal candidate will have the passion and aptitude to master GitHub’s product capabilities, business impact, and competitive advantages, creating valuable solutions for our customers. Responsibilities include cultivating strong customer relationships, applying sales strategies with decision makers at various organizational levels, and positioning as a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities
  1. Sales Excellence
  • Position as a thought leader and trusted advisor to executive decision makers using advanced sales and communication techniques.
  • Develop compelling value propositions and business plans that drive outcomes and maximize upselling and cross-selling.
  • Maintain stakeholder maps and articulate GitHub’s value aligned with customer objectives, translating features into business impacts.
  • Account Management
    • Create and execute account plans using methodologies like Value Framework, MEDDPICC, Challenger Sale, and Command of the Message.
    • Forecast and oversee high-volume sales activities, coordinate with internal teams, and lead diverse, high-performing teams.
    • Understand prospect and buying processes, facilitate deal navigation, and strategize to overcome challenges.
  • Industry Knowledge
    • Exhibit deep industry and market knowledge, positioning GitHub solutions within industry contexts.
    • Advise customers on leveraging GitHub products for innovation and business transformation.
    • Present strategic ideas effectively to diverse audiences and handle live Q&A confidently.
    Qualifications

    Required:

    • 6+ years in technology sales, account management, or technical selling, or
    • Bachelor’s in Business, Tech, Liberal Arts, or related, with 4+ years experience, or
    • Master’s in Business Administration with 2+ years experience, or
    • Equivalent experience.

    Additional requirements include the ability to travel approximately 30% and fluency in English and native-level Spanish.

    Preferred:

    • Experience in software sales, especially in software development, DevOps, DevSecOps, or AI domains.
    • Proven ability to build trusted relationships across organizational levels.
    • Experience selling in LATAM is highly preferred.
    • Track record of exceeding targets and growing business YoY.
    • Knowledge of Portuguese is a plus.
    Compensation Range

    The base salary is USD $155,250.00 per year, with additional sales incentives. The role offers an OTE based on a 50/50 split between base salary and incentives. Compensation varies based on location, experience, and performance, with benefits including bonuses and stock options.
