Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a Sr Enhancement Specialist Editor to support NGA Operations Center with editorial services following NGA production guidance. You will review and edit material for clarity, grammar, and format across multiple formats and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

At least 6 years of relevant professional-editing experience or equivalent education.
Bachelor's in English or related field may count for up to four years of experience.
Master's degree may count for up to two additional years of experience.
Superior proficiency in English language mechanics and vocabulary.
Knowledge of government-mandated plain language principles.
Strong computer skills and proficiency on PC platforms.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with electronic publishing software such as Adobe InDesign and FrameMaker.
Achieve 80 percent or higher on a diagnostic assessment if required.
Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
Excellent writing skills.
Familiarity with US Intelligence Community imagery collection and exploitation.

Responsibilities

Review, analyze, and correct draft material for clarity, consistency, style, format, logic, and grammar, including punctuation.
Review correspondence and guide editors on clarity, brevity, and relevance.
Work on multiple projects with tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
Perform structural, substantive, and copy edits for accuracy and compliance with language and formatting.
Produce and disseminate documents in hardcopy, softcopy, and web formats; ensure compatibility across systems.
Provide quality control in accordance with customer policy and standards for correspondence.
Attend editor and tasking support meetings; stay current with action items and FOSPs.
Review tasking and FOSP metadata for completeness and correctness.
Communicate work status and requirements clearly with team, managers, and customers.
Support division mission, expedite crisis work, and ad hoc tasking.
Provide oversight and direction to lower-level contractor employees.
Perform quality control checks on lower-level contractor work.
