Job summary

Senior Metal Bellows, a division of Senior plc, is seeking a hands-on test technician to validate designs and run qualification tests. You will read technical drawings, support test plans, and operate equipment to ensure high-quality results in a lab environment.

The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and data integrity, with opportunities to train others and contribute to lab capabilities. Location: Sharon, MA; compensation reflects experience and internal equity.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or technical associate degree required.
  • 5–10 years of hands-on technician experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.
  • Experience reading and following technical drawings and procedures.
  • Experience with pneumatic/hydraulic systems and high‑pressure testing.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run qualification tests on precision bellows, assemblies, and finished parts.
  • Read and understand technical drawings, qualification test plans, and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop test setups meeting test requirements.
  • Support multiple test plans with multiple active tests concurrently.
  • Operate mechanical test equipment and instruments for tests.
  • Identify and correct test issues to ensure data integrity.
  • Maintain focus on quality, safety, and accurate data entry.
  • Use basic computer systems for data entry and job tracking.
  • Help maintain and grow the engineering test lab capabilities.
  • Assist and train teammates, share knowledge, and raise performance.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll be the final checkpoint before our designs get to our customers — testing, validating, and making sure everything performs to perfection.

  • Set up and run qualification tests on precision bellows, assemblies, and finished parts
  • Read and understand technical drawings, qualification test plans, and customer specifications
  • Work with engineers to develop test setups capable of meeting test requirements
  • Support multiple test plans simultaneously with multiple active tests per plan
  • Use mechanical tools and test equipment to run qualification tests
  • Identify and work to correct test issues
  • Keep quality, safety, and data integrity at the forefront of everything
  • Use basic computer systems for data entry and job tracking
  • Maintain and grow the capabilities of the engineering test lab
  • Support your team — train others, share knowledge, and raise the bar
What You Bring:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/prints
  • Comfortable following written work instructions and procedures
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Skills in rigorous note‑taking and data collection
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including hoses, valves, and regulators
  • Comfortable working with high‑pressure systems (6,000+ PSI)
  • Ability to accurately install, read, and interpret pressure and temperature gauges
  • Ability to assemble basic electrical wiring of the sensors and valves necessary to run tests
  • A high school diploma, GED, or technical school associates degree
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment
  • 5-10 years experience in a hands‑on technician role

Hiring Range: $76,000-96,000 annually.

Final compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, relevant qualifications, and internal equity.
