Job summary

Generac Power Systems, Jefferson, WI seeks an Engineering Technician IV to perform electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests on current and new product designs under supervision. The role includes continuous improvement, problem containment, and ensuring test requirements are met.

Responsibilities include setup, testing prototypes and products, data documentation, and supporting manufacturing with troubleshooting and audits. A High School Diploma and 10 years of experience are required.

• 10 years of relevant work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up test equipment and products following testing procedures.
• Perform tests on prototypes, existing and competitor products for specified criteria (mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical).
• Use mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement devices to collect data.
• Interpret and document measurements, including temperature, pressure, and scientific notation.
• Assist in assembling and fabricating test equipment per blueprint specifications.
• Follow guidelines for the bill of materials.
• Support manufacturing through troubleshooting and maintain test-related documentation in databases.
• Prepare formal and informal test reports.
• Assist with the Engineering Laboratory Audit and 5S programs at Generac.
