Job summary

The University of Utah seeks a full-time Project Manager to support a newly funded NSF Programmable Cloud Laboratory (PCL) Test Bed Node, a distributed research facility providing remote, programmable access to scientific instruments through open APIs and AI-assisted automated workflows.

Reporting to the PI/Node Director and serving on the Node Management Team, the PM will manage the project’s budget, schedule, and scope.

Qualifications

• Requires strong project management skills with experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder technical projects.
• Experience developing proposals, workload planning, schedules, and budgets to align with program goals.
• Strong written communication, budgeting, and cross-institutional coordination abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage budget, schedule, and scope of NSF Programmable Cloud Laboratory (PCL) project.
• Develop and maintain Project Implementation Plan and Strategic Implementation Plan; track milestone gates.
• Coordinate NSF site visits, cross-node standards, recruitment, onboarding workshops, and annual PI meeting.
