Job summary

Dcubed is a fast-growing space technology company developing flight-proven hardware, with products already operating in space. This Senior Engineering Project Manager role leads multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, and systems disciplines, mentoring engineers and supporting design and analysis for Dcubed USA programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of engineering, hardware development, or related technical environment with increasing responsibility.
• Experience leading engineering projects and technical teams.
• Strong CAD and simulation tooling experience (SolidWorks, ANSYS, NASTRAN, FEMAP, Thermal Desktop).
• Experience mentoring engineers and coordinating multidisciplinary activities.

About the role

As a Senior Engineering Project Manager, you bring a mix of mechanical engineering/mechatronics expertise, along with experience managing a small team’s tasks, schedules, and budget. You will lead by example through the mentorship of less senior engineers across mechanical, electrical, and systems disciplines, in addition to performing design or analysis in support of Dcubed USA technical programs.

This role combines acting as an engineering subject matter expert, team lead, and project manager.

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and projects supporting the development of innovative space hardware.
• Design and analyze structures, mechanisms, or mechatronic systems based on your expertise.
• Mentor engineers in technical problem-solving and project management.
• Coordinate external engineering partners and support hardware procurement, including identifying and managing suppliers.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and avionics is a plus.

What you will bring

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in engineering, hardware development, or a related technical environment, with increasing responsibility.
• Previous experience managing engineering projects, technical teams, or both.
• Strong technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: Mechanical design and drafting, with CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred); Finite Element Analysis (FEA), using tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or FEMAP; Thermal analysis, ideally using Thermal Desktop; Mechanism design and analysis; Mechatronic systems.
• Experience mentoring engineers and coordinating multidisciplinary technical activities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance technical requirements with project schedules and resources.
• A hands‑on mindset and enthusiasm for working in a small, fast‑paced engineering environment.
