  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical/Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or leading complex cross-functional engineering initiatives.
  • Experience partnering with algorithm development, machine learning, data science, or software engineering teams to deliver complex technical products.

WHOOP is hiring a Senior Engineering Program Manager to lead execution across our Core Algorithm Development team. In this role, you will partner closely with algorithm engineers, data scientists, firmware engineers, software teams, product management, and validation teams to deliver the physiological algorithms that power WHOOP’s member experience. You will drive cross-functional planning, execution, and delivery of complex algorithm programs while establishing scalable development processes that enable high-quality, predictable releases.

This role is focused on operational excellence across algorithm development—from roadmap planning and model development through validation, integration, and release—ensuring our teams can efficiently deliver industry-leading physiological insights.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead program management for the Core Algorithm Development team, driving execution of algorithm initiatives that power WHOOP’s core product experiences
  • Partner with algorithm engineers, data scientists, firmware engineers, software teams, product managers, and validation teams to define program plans, milestones, dependencies, and release schedules
  • Establish and continuously improve development processes for algorithm development, validation, integration, and release, enabling predictable execution across multiple concurrent programs
  • Drive cross-functional coordination across engineering, product and quality to ensure alignment on priorities, risks, deliverables, and timelines
  • Identify technical and program risks early, proactively driving mitigation plans and helping teams navigate changing priorities while maintaining delivery commitments
  • Coordinate algorithm validation efforts, ensuring appropriate data availability, testing strategies, performance evaluation, and release readiness
  • Develop clear program reporting, executive communications, and operational metrics that provide visibility into progress, risks, and resource needs
  • Champion continuous improvement across planning, execution, and release management processes to improve velocity, quality, and predictability across the Sensor Intelligence organization
  • Foster strong collaboration across technical teams while creating an environment that enables engineers to focus on delivering high-impact work
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or leading complex cross-functional engineering initiatives
  • Experience partnering with algorithm development, machine learning, data science, or software engineering teams to deliver complex technical products
  • Experience managing algorithm development programs through the full development lifecycle, including planning, development, validation, integration, and release
  • Strong understanding of modern engineering development processes, release management, dependency management, and technical program execution
  • Experience working with physiological sensing, wearable technologies, machine learning systems, or data-driven products is preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical work into clear program plans and executive updates
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments with multiple competing priorities while driving alignment across highly technical teams
  • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity across program management activities, including planning, documentation, analysis, and communication, while ensuring AI-assisted outputs meet the same high standards for accuracy, quality, and responsible use as personal contributions

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $215,000 Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.

In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.

These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate’s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
