Job description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow our portfolio of non-traditional infrastructure programs across sovereign and privately funded sectors, with a particular focus on projects financed by U.S. government and international development institutions such as USAID, MCC, DFC, World Bank, ADB, OPIC, and other multilateral development (MNDs) banks.

This worldwide position requires a strategic thinker and doer—someone who can identify, capture, and manage a pipeline of high-impact infrastructure projects, including advisory engineering services across emerging and frontier markets. You will be instrumental in positioning the firm for its next phase of growth in the development-financed infrastructure sector.

Why This Role?

Our firm is in a strategic growth phase, building on a successful history of delivering technical excellence in complex development environments. We are a multidisciplinary engineering and advisory consultancy with a focus on infrastructure, sustainability, and economic development, operating across both sovereign and private sector landscapes. We’re looking for senior leadership that can have a transformative impact — building relationships, securing new opportunities, and strengthening our credibility with major funding institutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the technical and strategic delivery of infrastructure programs funded by U.S., sovereign, and multilateral development agencies
  • Capture, manage, and grow a pipeline of projects in the non-traditional infrastructure and engineering advisory space
  • Engage with institutional clients, lead proposal development, and support business development initiatives globally
  • Oversee cross-functional teams across design, engineering, and field implementation
  • Expand the firm’s profile through effective representation, execution excellence, and trusted partnerships

What You Bring:

  • Extensive experience in civil/infrastructure engineering, particularly in donor- or sovereign-funded programs
  • Proven track record working with agencies such as USAID, MCC, DFC, WB, OPIC, or other MND banks
  • Strong business development acumen and ability to build and manage a global project pipeline
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Familiarity with both sovereign and private sector procurement and delivery models

Location: Flexible. Preference for candidates eligible to work in the U.S. or with substantial experience in USAID or similar contracting environments

Travel: This is a global position; international travel will be required as part of the role
