Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Surgical Vision Capital Projects to join the Jacksonville, Florida team. The role leads engineering teams focused on expanding production capacity for intraocular lens manufacturing, collaborating with R&D, procurement, and finance to drive project execution.

You will oversee multi-site projects, develop talent, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while advancing technology and process improvements across the Vision

Qualifications

• Min 8 years industry experience in an engineering environment.
• Min 3 years of technical project management.
• Experience managing engineering projects in FDA/Health Agency-regulated settings.
• English fluency required.
• Spanish fluency is a bonus.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead Capital Projects Engineering teams across global sites to add production capacity for intraocular lens manufacturing.
• Partner with R&D, Advanced Tech, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and supply chain to plan, procure, install, and qualify new manufacturing equipment.
• Provide timely reporting on project status to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Develop and manage capital budgets, strategic plans, and cash flow targets.

Senior Engineering Manager, Surgical Vision Capital Projects

The Senior Engineering Manager, Surgical Vision Capital Projects is a people-leader role responsible for the stewardship of Capital Projects Engineering teams within global J&J Surgical Vision manufacturing sites utilizing the latest engineering technologies to add new production capacity for intraocular lens manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• General Lead Supply Chain projects for additional capacity, new product delivery and significant technology enablers.
• Engineering leadership, partnering extensively with the following to plan, procure, install and qualify new manufacturing equipment: R&D and Advanced Technology teams, Procurement, Finance and Legal teams, JJSV and Vision Care (contact lens) supply chain organizations to promote new technology and support new product introductions, Facilities and Engineering Property Services teams to enable site readiness, Quality teams to validate new products and new equipment.
• Project Management - provide timely and accurate reporting on project activities within your team ensuring business commitments are met for on-time, on-budget delivery
• Cost management having responsibility for capital budgets, strategic planning and cash flow targets, Contributes on a management level on the direction and strategy of the business
• Responsible for driving innovative change across all areas including plant support functions, through new technology application, equipment upgrades and equipment optimization
• Responsible for the development of a team of approximately ten Project Leads through sourcing new talent (internal & external) and developing the capabilities of the existing team members
• Responsible for conducting regular and timely Performance Reviews for all direct reports
• Responsible for providing both positive and negative feedback to employees about their performance in a timely and constructive manner

Represents the department/project in providing solutions to difficult technical issues. Customer Focus & Innovation - Develops and implements functional area initiatives to deliver customer value at lowest cost. Resolves and manages technical and tactical operational problems. Establishes key operating practices for department/project and functional area, ensuring cross-functional alliance. Drives innovation within functional area.

Education

• Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an Engineering / Scientific discipline

Experience and Skills

Required

• Min 8 Years industry experience in an Engineering environment
• Min 3 years of Technical Project Management

Preferred

• Experience managing Engineering Projects in an FDA/Health Agency-regulated
• Min 3 years demonstrated People management environment
• Strong Finance acumen - MBA or experience equivalent preferred
• Track record of significant cross-functional partnerships
• English Fluency is required
• Spanish Fluency is a bonus
