Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Self-Serve Learning team in Mountain View, CA. You will lead a cross-functional group building scalable learning experiences, including self-paced labs, hands-on environments, and AI-assisted tutorials, with a growth mindset and strong emphasis on product-led growth.

You will grow a team from ~12 to ~24 engineers, shape technical strategy, and partner with R&D, marketing, and field teams to drive adoption and impact at scale.

Qualifications

• Fifteen+ years of software engineering experience with leadership impact.
• Five+ years in engineering management, including 2+ years mentoring other managers.
• Experience as a Staff-level IC with full-stack capability.
• Proven ability to scale teams from 10 to 30+ engineers.
• Track record building and scaling consumer-facing products from 0→1 to scale.
• Strong collaboration across product, engineering, and GTM partners.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical and product strategy for Learning.
• Own roadmap, execution, and delivery — taking a 0→1 product to millions of learners.
• Establish team best practices — design reviews, code quality, testing, and performance for high-scale systems.
• Collaborate across R&D, Learning & Enablement, Marketing, and Field Engineering to align the product with learner adoption.
