About The Role

The Object Platform at Rippling is central to our platform strategy, focusing on three key areas:

  1. ZObjects: A leading object store integrating HTAP capabilities for customers and developers.
  2. Custom Apps: A platform enabling non-technical users to build and automate business processes through a visual application builder.
  3. Application Platform: A development platform supporting both first-party and third-party developers.

This senior engineering management role will oversee these three areas.

What You'll Do
  • Lead a passionate team of software engineers committed to ownership and impact.
  • Define vision and technical strategy to achieve impactful business outcomes.
  • Drive platform adoption across engineering teams developing next-gen products and cloud services.
  • Establish and maintain engineering processes that enable rapid progress.
  • Cultivate a culture of engineering excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing team with a strong delivery cadence in an agile environment.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, high-velocity products.
  • Engage in technical architecture, review processes, and provide technical leadership and accountability.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and cross-functional leaders to shape and prioritize engineering initiatives.
  • Maintain a holistic view across engineering and product to inform strategy.
  • Take on product management responsibilities when needed.
Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of engineering experience delivering impactful products.
  • At least 4 years of experience leading and managing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-based SaaS applications, especially AWS.
  • Proven ability to lead and execute complex technical initiatives.
  • Experience transforming ideas into impactful products.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Strong skills in recruiting, organizing, and motivating engineering teams.
  • Excellent product intuition and cross-functional collaboration skills.
