nVent is seeking a senior Enclosure Engineering leader to head a multi-site North American Custom Enclosure Engineering team from Minneapolis. The role focuses on prioritizing resources, aligning with cross-functional groups, and driving strategy, process rigor and design execution for custom enclosures.

The position requires a mechanical engineering background with 15+ years in engineering and 10+ years in leadership, plus strategic and interpersonal capabilities to mentor teams and drive

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

• Leading a multi-site North American Custom Enclosure Engineering team
• Leading and prioritizing engineering resources and initiatives in collaboration with other functions to meet customer and business demands.
• Serve as a member of the Enclosure Engineering leadership team by helping to develop and deploy the engineering strategy, resource management and engineering initiatives
• Collaborating with multiple functions in the Engineered To Order (ETO) process ensuring process rigor, velocity and flexibility to ensure business results are met.
• Providing technical leadership and guidance aligned to long-term product architecture and business goals while balancing short-term custom design execution
• Developing an engineering talent pipeline, influencing recruitment and retention to support growth
• Leading, coaching and mentoring engineering people leaders, engineers and designers
• Be responsible for the Engineering and Design of Custom Enclosures
• Direct and mentor a team of people leaders, Engineers and Designers related to custom Enclosure designs
• Balance short-term execution with long term scalability
• Drives cross-team collaboration and process improvements supporting our product and manufacturing capabilities and targets
• Continuously develops, champions and participates in a continuous improvement environment and drives team-wide efficiency
• Analyze trends, issues and KPIs driving engineering execution
• Supports critical internal/external customers and partnerships

YOU HAVE:

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related area; Mechanical
• 15+ years of proven ability with 10+ years of leadership experience
• Proven experience in custom engineering design, process improvement, or technical program leadership.
• Solid understanding of engineering development processes, documentation practices, and product lifecycle management.
• Strong interpersonal and planning skills coupled with an agile mentality
• Highly organized and analytical using data to drive behaviors, decisions and strategies
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder‑management capabilities.

Preferred:

• Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Experience with transformation initiatives or enterprise engineering systems.
• Background in manufacturing, product development, or industrial engineering environments.

Pay Transparency

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range: $123,500.00 - $229,500.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
