Job summary

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to oversee Engineering Design Configuration, configuration control, and change management across shipbuilding projects.

You will manage MEL, CPC, MTO coordination, and VFI/OFI requirements to ensure traceability and alignment with the approved design. Ideal candidates bring shipbuilding experience, strong data management skills, and the ability to apply AI and analytics to improve processes.

Qualifications

• US citizen or permanent resident; sponsorship not available.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or related field.
• Shipbuilding or marine industry experience required.
• Experience coordinating across Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Planning, Production, vendors, and clients in a shipbuilding project environment.
• Experience managing engineering data, configuration/change information, integrated data systems, dashboards, or Product Data Management (PDM) environments preferred.
• Advanced level Microsoft Suite experience including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Regular attendance with flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Comply with safety, ethics, and environmental rules and policies.
• Manage Engineering Design Configuration and Configuration Control and maintain the engineering baseline.
• Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) from initiation through closure.
• Coordinate engineering changes with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Production, the Client/Owner, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Manage Parts and Equipment identification and configuration; ensure traceability across models, drawings, and docs.
• Maintain MEL and CPC; coordinate MTOs and Material Requisitions.
• Manage VFI and OFI, including requirements, tracking, revisions, and incorporation into design.
• Apply AI and data analytics to improve configuration and change-management activities.
• Develop and maintain CM processes, workflows, status reporting, reviews, and audits.
• Perform other duties as instructed.
